Our Programs

Who We Are

STEAMLabs International is a student-led 501(c)(3) nonprofit bringing free, hands-on science to underserved elementary and middle school students. We partner with schools, libraries, and after-school programs to spark curiosity through short, high-impact labs that kids remember.

What a Session Looks Like

Our sessions typically run about one hour. Students begin with a quick icebreaker to meet their mentors, then watch a short introduction and live demonstration of the experiment. Next, they spend 25-30 minutes completing the lab themselves with guidance from mentors. To close, we explain the science behind the activity, and every student leaves with a handout and a take-home experiment to extend the learning at home.

How It Works

• All materials provided: We supply experiment kits at no cost, pre-packed and labeled per table with clear safety guidance.
• Classroom size: Sessions typically host 25-30 students (up to 35). Larger venues can scale up to 100 students.
• Trained mentors: Each session is supported by 3-5 high school volunteers per class (about 1 mentor for every 5-6 students). For bigger events, we can bring up to 20 trained mentors to ensure every child gets hands-on guidance.

Customization

Every program is flexible and can be adapted to your needs. Schools and teachers can:

• Choose labs from our menu of pre-designed experiments
• Work with us to design a custom series aligned with grade levels and NGSS standards

Other Program Options

Beyond one-hour sessions, we also offer:

• Extended in-class series (4-10 weeks, biology focus)
• Summer camps with multi-day experiments
• Large-scale Science Nights featuring 5-6 different labs in one evening
